We are looking for a Field Based Account Manager
Location: Field/Home Based
Salary: £40,000-50,000 plus commission (OTE £40-50K)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday
Work pattern: Hybrid, 3 days in the office
About the role
The Field Based Account Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and growing customer relationships through face-to-face visits, strategic account planning, and proactive sales activity. This role combines relationship management with new business development, ensuring customers receive exceptional service while driving revenue growth across the territory.
Key responsibilities
Manage and grow a portfolio of customer accounts, maintaining regular face‑to‑face contact across the assigned region.
Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities, including prospecting, lead generation, and territory development.
Conduct on‑site customer meetings, and strategic reviews to understand customer needs and future plans.
Develop tailored account plans to maximise retention, revenue, and long‑term partnership value.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms in line with company guidelines.
Monitor competitor activity and market trends, providing insights to support strategic decision‑making.
Collaborate with internal teams (operations, marketing, technical support, finance) to deliver seamless customer experiences.
Maintain accurate CRM records, including visit reports, pipeline updates, and opportunity tracking.
Achieve or exceed sales targets, including revenue, volume, margin, new business acquisition, and customer retention KPIs.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer workshops when required.
About you
Proven experience in field sales, account management, or territory management.
Strong ability to build rapport and trust through face-to-face interactions.
Confident presenting solutions, negotiating deals, and closing opportunities.
Commercially astute with strong understanding of pricing, margins, and value propositions.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
Competent with CRM systems and digital tools for planning and reporting.
Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy field based schedule.
Highly self motivated and target driven.
Professional, credible, and confident in customer facing environments.
Strong communicator with excellent listening skills.
Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast paced sales environment.
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem solving.
Relationship focused with a genuine interest in customer success.
Qualifications
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within the territory.
Right to work in the UK.
